Today I woke early and had a single packet of oatmeal and only 1/2 a cup of coffee as I rearranged my schedule a wee bit to go on a run! I picked up my daughter and headed to the YMCA shortly before the weather arrived. We each ran a mile on the treadmill.

I have never ran a mile with my daughter. In fact,until a week or so ago, I could not run a mile. I have exercise induced asthma and used to get awful shin-splints. But I have dropped 22.5 pounds since November. I have been more active this winter. And I joined the “Y.”

Ceiri and I started the day right! Went home to the arms of her son, my grandson and had coffee. We picked careful steps to the car,though. The rain and sleet had arrived. The day felt “spring-like” but as Yoopers we know not to count on spring in February. Traditionally the last worst storm is our St. Patrick’s Day storm.

I had many errands to run today. But the time I was done visiting at my daughter’s hugging Liam before his nap, the roads were full of accidents and police officers guiding traffic around them. I chose to head home.

I am looking forward to runs outdoors! I am looking forward to green. Leaf green. Grass Green. Shammrock Green!
